It seems that the mobile app market is well established in 2022, but new names emerge constantly, and users keep searching for alternatives and better solutions. Which apps are the most searched for this year? Ironically, these are the apps meant for searching – that is, dating apps, followed by those about stocks and photo editing.
Dating apps are now powerful as never before. Probably that’s why Match Group is now pushing for the unheard-of privileges on Google Play, namely the ability to use third-party payment systems. And it’s likely to get its way. Another trend in dating apps is diversification. There are dating apps for searching within a certain ethnicity or religion, region, or interests, let alone appearance and preferences. Probably finding the right app is an important step to finding the right person.
One can say that stock apps are meant to get richer and more attractive, and photo editing apps make you look better and again more attractive. This one-track view may be too much, but in the end, we’re all led by instincts. It's strange that games that generate fantastic revenues are only the fourth most frequent object of search: 135,000 requests are a tie-in with music apps and photography.
On the other hand, when it comes to particular apps, it’s social media and games that dominate the Top 10, with notable exceptions of LiveIn (a video chat app) and BeReal, a social media prompting participants to take improvised photos each day at a random time. A Ukrainian social media Obimy, also highly searched for this month, is a great method to send virtual hugs. Among the games, the most searched are Rovio Classics, Football Manager 2022, and Fill the Fridge!
Which app did you search for the last time? Was it a new one or something you got to know about only recently? Do you often google apps instead of searching within app markets? Share your approach with us in the comments!
