Waze Is Going All Christmas-y with Its New Santa Voice, Mood, and Vehicle Update

Waze is about to get you into some seriously festive holiday spirit with its grand Christmas makeover. The seasonal remodeling comes with a vast array of exciting options like voice directions from Santa, sleigh icons that show your car as Santa’s vehicle, and a new themed Mood that lets others see you as Santa.

What has Waze got in store for us now?

Thanks to the August update, we have already had a chance to take a fancy ride as ghosts and warthogs or have directions provided to us by Escharum and Master Chief. Now, this favorite mobile driving app for monitoring real-time traffic situations is going to treat us to a unique time-limited series of Christmas-based vehicles and moods. You can rely on Santa to know all the best routes – after all, he somehow always manages to deliver presents all around the world in the course of a single night, right?

How to enable the Christmas makeover settings?

The new options are already available in the Waze app till December 31, 2021. Here is how to find and enable the voice settings:

  • Open Waze settings and select Voice & sound.
  • Scroll down the list of voiceover options until you find English (US) Santa. Press to select.

To get your vehicle to look like a sleigh icon instead of a regular arrow or a car, open Waze settings => Map display => Car icon => Santa's sleigh.

Finally, if you are feeling a bit Santa-ish yourself, feel free to customize your Mood accordingly:

  • Tap on the magnifying glass icon to launch the Waze search panel.
  • Go to the My Waze page by clicking on your name at the top.
  • Proceed to the Mood section to pick Santa because he truly rocks this time of the year!
