Twitter Enables Users to Share Tweets to LinkedIn and WhatsApp

If you want to share a certain tweet with someone rather than retweet it, what can you do? Well, you can just copy the link, but there are better ways. Now, Twitter enables you to share tweets on LinkedIn and WhatsApp in one tap. This is obviously made to help Twitter users easier share tweets regardless of the messenger or media, so tweets make it to more readers.

The new buttons are so far being tested in India, quite a large market yet just one of those in the world. No wonder WhatsApp became one of the first third-party apps to be tested with Twitter: its Indian audience is as many as 487M users and counting. The users selected for participating in the testing now will see the WhatsApp sharing button under tweets.

Do you remember the feud between Twitter and Instagram? This resulted in isolation of these networks from each other, but now Twitter is integrating even closer with another Meta project. Times change (unlike your older tweets).

A similar button may soon appear that lets you share tweets on LinkedIn. While that social media is mostly meant for professionals, Twitter as the birthplace of numerous news, speculations, and scandals may be the firsthand source to reference. Finally, Android users now receive the ability to share tweets on Snapchat. Previously, this option was exclusive to iOS users, but now equality seems to win.

With this sharing options, Twitter hopes to weaken the fashion of sharing tweets as screenshots. While this method is good for spreading the information, it implies no engagement with the platform, which Twitter intends to change.

Do you often share tweets personally to your friends or coworkers rather than retweeting them? What about reposting them on other platforms? And maybe you have already received that WhatsApp share button? Tell us about how you prefer it in the comments please!
