Fans of the web-swinging open-world odyssey, Marvel's Spider-Man, have been eagerly awaiting the release of the much-anticipated sequel. Now, Insomniac Games have confirmed that Spider-Man 2 will launch in the autumn of 2023, exclusively for the PS5.
The play promises to continue the arc of Peter Parker and Miles Morales, with a new blockbuster chapter. Last year, Ryan Schneider, Head of Franchise Strategy & Studio Relations Insomniac Games, confirmed that “much of the development team” who worked on 2018's Spider-Man is returning to produce the sequel. Tony Todd, who rose to prominence with the Candyman series of horror slasher films, will voice the anti-hero Venom, who will play a key antagonistic role in the game.
The play will also introduce new suits and villains for the web-crawling duo to battle against, pushing the PS5 hardware to its limits. Bryan Intihar, creative director at Insomniac Games, said in a blog post that the team has been in absolute awe of the work of their peers and are looking forward to releasing the game next year.
Spider-Man 2 is sure to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2023, with fans eager to continue the adventures of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. With the game pushing the limits of the PS5 hardware, it is sure to be a visual spectacle that fans of the series will not want to miss.
