Resident Evil 4: Remake to Come in March 2023

Really, the Resident Evil series is about to be remade over and over again. Now, it’s time to expect the remade RE 4 which is about to hit gaming platforms in March 2023. And not only will this game be redesigned to meet the expectations of the new generation players. It will contain some VR content as well, for further immersion.

The game will preserve most gameplay elements and a sufficient part of the storyline. Yet the new appearance will make it much more detailed (just as one could expect in 2023) and immersive. The trailer shows how the new game will look, and the difference is indeed drastic between two versions. Capcom will probably stick to the original story, maybe adding some details but keeping its status a remake, not a reboot or reinvention.

The most interesting thing for many players, though, will be portions of content designed for PS VR2. The developers won’t risk much and go 100% VR, but those who bought this headset with the latest console will be satisfied. If you want more VR content in this universe, well, there is more to anticipate: Resident Evil: Village is also going VR soon, though the date is not revealed yet.

Though the VR content is made for PlayStation, the game is also set for release on Xbox Series S/X and on PC. Logically, it won’t be coming to PS4 and Xbox One; the original RE4 was remade for the last-gen consoles in 2016, so remaking a remake will be a bit of excess. By the time of the release (March 2023), though, many gamers will upgrade to the next-gen consoles, which makes the decision to stick to the most capable hardware even more reasonable.
