PUBG New State: The Game’s Update Coming This April

A new game dubbed PUBG: New State will see light this April. We don’t know much, but a few leaked details indicate that it’s going to be a fresh take on the battle royale game.

2051: Year of Anarchy

PUBG: New State is going to premiere this April. The main concept of the massive online shooter will be left intact, it seems. But for the first time in so long, PUBG will get a brand-new map in addition to Erangel, Vivendi, Miramar and Sanhok.

The location has a Hellenistic name Troi and an 8x8 size similar to Erangel. It is a futuristic city that is overtaken by anarchy and chaos. Allegedly, there will be various sub-locations.

As the trailer shows, there will be suburbs with abandoned houses. An advanced system of public transportation — some weird-shaped buses — is also featured. We’ll probably be able to use them to travel through the map in addition to normal vehicles. (Cars and quadbikes).

The plot of the game will be set in 2051. According to the backstory, ‘In 2051, anarchy rules as numerous factions battle each other’. Futurism will make you adapt to new technologies and devise new tactics that PUBG has never seen before.

Specifically, for the first time drones will be featured in the game. Another addition to your arsenal will be deployable shields that can absorb a good amount of firearm and explosive damage.

It is expected, we’ll also get new weapons like plasma guns or shockwave pistols. And the Chinese version of the gameplay demo revealed that grappling hooks may also be a tactical addition.

PUBG Re-architected

PUBG New State

Interestingly, New State isn’t just a new content pack. It is a whole independent game on its own, entirely produced by the Krafton studio — Tencent wasn’t involved in the process this time.

The classic battle royale formula seems to be untouched. There will be the canonical shrinking battlefield, time limit, a huge crowd of players and oodles of loot scattered throughout the map.

But apart from the futuristic vibe, New State will also get a visual facelift. Movement physics looks smoother in the trailer and so does the gun recoil. Remade lighting brings a whole new dimension to the game: shades and volume of objects seem much more realistic.

It appears, though, the game won’t be issued for PC or consoles. So far, it is an exclusive mobile title, which is available for pre-order on Android. For pre-ordering the game, you will get a rare car skin, which looks similar to a Koenigsegg supercar.

With updated visuals, PUBG: New State will require the following:

  • 2.5 GB RAM.
  • Android 6 or later.
  • 5 GB of free storage.
  • Snapdragon 865 Plus CPU or similar.

At the moment, preregister is available for Android users only. Click here to do that. The exact premiere date is unknown, except that’s set in the first week of April.

The good news is that the game may be allowed in the countries (like India) where Tencent has been previously banned due to jeopardizing user privacy. But if not, you still can circumvent the ban with a VPN.
