Messenger and Instagram Users Can Join Сross-App Group Chats

Two popular social apps have become even more integrated into the Facebook family since Messenger and Instagram users can now join the group chats. A new update that was recently revealed offers a cross-app experience. Apart from the chat, you can take part in polls, create a theme, or use customized reactions. There are lots of new themes added, including Astrology Art Suite and Cottagecore. But if you don’t want to talk to anyone, you can watch content shared by Travis Barker, Cardi B, or Steve Aoki.

Developers added a pointer for each group chat so you will not get lost in multiple conversations. You can also see the members of the chat you are sending the message to. Users are able to watch the feed posts at the same time by enabling the “Watch Together” option. Besides, it is the first time Instagram chats have received the polls. You can create one of your own. According to the Messenger’s statement, polls may be used for heated discussions about movies among friends and voting for the next restaurant to come.

The Messenger officials have shared the news on their official page. The messaging feature was announced last year. According to the officials, over 70 percent of Instagram users picked cross-app Messenger communication. Since the service was a success, developers created the group chat option between two apps. The classic set of controls is still unchanged. You can choose whether you want other users to reach you or not. It is up to you who to invite to the Chats List, and you may still block people you don’t want to see. The company continues to improve its privacy policy and increase the safety of users.
