League of Legends Players Get Their Compensation: Free Star Guardian

Star Guardian events are always a great time for League of Legends players, with their space-themed skins and unique rewards. This year, though, the regular event went irregularly wrong, with glitches and unavailable prizes. In response to players’ reaction, Riot Games cancelled the event but gave the rewards to the players for free.

This is the solution that a game publisher rarely retreats to, as this means a complete failure of the event. Alas, that’s the exact word for what happened to Star Guardian Event 2022, named Another Sky. Huge masses of players did not receive their rewards for completed missions because of strange glitches. This is a huge disappointment that needed an urgent intervention to make right.

The problems went loud on social media, as players were eager to get their rewards and couldn’t just keep silent about that. Then more media spread it, and the event turned out to be a disaster. And just giving the rewards away for free did not fix it like it should. Simply because players have been interested in missions themselves just as strongly.

The next move already announced by Riot, though, seems to finally dot the i’s in the story. In addition to rewards, the company plans to fix the free missions and make them available as well. So those who were in it for the experience will soon be able to regain it. The entire Another Sky Story is now under reconstruction, and the players will soon receive it. Alas, we don’t have any more precise schedule than “soon”. As for the paid missions, they will remain available until August 24 – just as it was planned.

Were you one of those who were denied their rewards for completing Another Sky missions? Are you satisfied with the outcome? And are you waiting for the next Star Guardian event? Let us know what you think about it in the comments!
