How to Get Better Insights in Your Spotify Stats All Year Long

One of Spotify’s best unnecessary traditions is Wrapped, a yearly insight into the music you’ve been listening to throughout the year. But do you have to wait until the year ends to get your stats? There are better ways, available whenever you’d like to get these insights. And this is how to keep track of what you’ve been enjoying.

First, you will need a desktop app or a web version of Spotify for that: mobile apps just don’t have this functionality. So, when you have opened your Spotify desktop app or the Web Player, do the following:

·         Click your profile name in the top right corner.

·         Select “Profile” from the drop-down menu.

·         Scroll down until you see the “Top artists this month” and “Top track this month” links.

·         Choose any of these to see the details. To get a more detailed picture, select “See all”.

These stats are only visible to you, so you cannot share them with anyone directly via a link. Copying and pasting won’t help either. The only way to let someone see what you’ve been listening to the most is to make a screenshot and send or publish it as a regular image.

You can do the same with an Android app. In the Home tab of the app, tap the clock-shaped icon in the top right corner. Then, again, scroll down until you see the Recently Played link. It conceals your recent stats in a way similar to what you may see in the desktop or web version. This gives you a list rather than a chart, but that’s what you can get without third-party solutions.

There are some, by the way. Apps like SpotiStats and uTrack keep tracking of what you listen to, and when necessary, they can provide you with the fullest reports on your tastes and preferences. The most interesting third-party services, though, make deeper insights. The names speak for themselves: How Bad Is Streaming Music?, Obscurify, Musictaste.space.
