Fortnite Brings Darth Vader, Rideable Wild Animals, and a Rollercoaster in a New Season

The new season of Fortnite brings tons of new content. As usually, there is a crossover with popular franchises, new rides, new locations with fantastic abilities, and, of course, new weapons. While much of this new attraction is for Battle Pass owners only, some of the content is available to all the players with a little luck or by default.

The first new feature can be seen directly from the bus as you approach the island. The new location features the big, high Reality Tree which spreads seeds. And yes, you can take a seed and plant it on the Island and then return to the spot in other matches; the location is preserved. Then look what will grow! Along with the tree, in Reality Falls (a name just as postmodern as expected from Fortnite) you’ll see psychedelic bouncy mushrooms. To see what they are capable of, land on one of them and hit it with the pickaxe.

The new weapon is a long-range Designated Marksman Rifle which will let you release your inner sniper. As for your inner rider, you’ll encounter rideable boars and wolves, no less! And while riding them you still can shoot, though for this I’d prefer something short-range and forceful.

Another unusual mechanic is storm-sickness. If you play on the verge of the storm, you’ll have to pay for it with accelerating sickness that will influence you more. The way out is literally out of the storm; as long as you stay outside, the sickness will not show.

Finally, about crossover. This season is all about Lucasfilm: the first skins you can obtain here are Darth Vader himself and Obi-Wan Kenobi who are right now crossing their lightsabers in the series on Disney+. Later they will be joined by Indiana Jones; though the next movie about the adventurous archeologist will only hit the cinema next summer, there is always some Indy time.

Which of these new features do you consider the most impressive? Are you already deep in the new season, or on a break from Fortnite? Tell us what you think of it in the comments!
