EA Announced Dead Space Remake Details!

The long-awaited remake of the popular horror franchise Dead Space has finally been announced at July’s EA Play Live event. However, the short empty teaser of the remake didn’t really show us any details of the upcoming title. The good news is that EA held a special separate developer livestream dedicated entirely to the game. Here’s what they showed us!

Six Major Things

Here are the most important facts from the August 31 event:

  1. Isaac learns to talk – unlike the original silent character, the new Isaac Clarke will talk with the voice of Gunner Wright. The voice actor has already confirmed it. Presumably, Isaac will talk only to reply to other story-driving characters or to say something when it feels weird to remain silent.
  2. Limb severing becomes more complex – judging by the early gameplay builds demonstrated on the show, necromorph physics has evolved dramatically since 2008. Now the plasma that hits them produces much more believable and detailed effects.
  3. Isaac will be able to float in zero gravity, just like in the sequels.
  4. There will be no microtransactions that we all hate so much in Dead Space 3.
  5. A deeper narrative – according to the game’s creative director, the remake will be based on the same iconic narrative core but add up more volume and unveil the bigger universe to us.
  6. Side characters will unfold – the remake will probably dig deeper into the stories of all the characters around Isaac.

Next-Gen Only, of Course

The upcoming game will certainly be available only for powerful PCs and the latest consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X. Judging by the gap between other announcements and releases by EA, the game will probably roll out sometime in 2022. Are you anticipating it as much as we do? Join the chat in the comments and suggest improvements that you’d like to see in the final release. It’s also necessary to share this news with all the Dead Space fans out there!
