Catchy Narrative of Wildermyth

Wildermyth is a freshly appeared story-based RPG we all need this year. While it was released only on June 15, it looks like we can’t get enough of it. The game is quickly gaining more and more fans around the world. The secret of its popularity is not just in the outstanding unique graphics and friendship that touches even the darkest souls. The main thing is the well-developed narrative we all believe is insignificant for games but which has turned out to be a huge revelation.

The Concept of Wildermyth

The heart of the game is the procedural generation, the creation of worlds inside the game, and new content. Yet, don’t get us wrong! You can feel total freedom till you follow the basic rules of the game. The very same tactics you might have already seen in it in Enter the Gungeon’s dungeons, Spelunky’s 2 levels, and bosses from Middle-earth: Shadow of War. While Wildermyth is something new and extraordinary, it has similarities with these games.

Although it does not give you freedom in generating new enemies or more levels, Wildermyth provides you with all the conditions for unique stories to be born. Every game is separated into 3-5 chapters. Some of them have already developed plots with specific goals and quests against enemies. Stories that are provided by the developers contain some mythic core inside. Other stories are generic and lean into the wide range of tools you use. Meanwhile, the main arc of the game is solid, matched to anything you do, and tells you the story of the group of heroes called to fight evil.

Main Characters in Wildermyth

Wildermyth offers you characters with several major qualities. You may choose whether you want a hunter, warrior, or mystic. Does it sound classic? Well, the game has its genre. You can be a warrior and fight on the frontline, a hunter who uses their skills at a distance, or a mystic with the ability to turn any environmental objects into weapons. You may throw the flour from a bag into enemies’ eyes.

Characters also have traits in the game. You can choose to create a poet, romantic, goof, selfish, among others. Every character has not one but several traits, like any normal human being. Mixed together, they create a unique soul. Depending on such a combination, your character will treat others differently. Make sure you are not too selfish.

On Campaigns

There are a wide number of campaigns you can join. Each of them is based on region mapping, building structures that might appear useful later, and creating fortifications from the enemy. Your character has to defend villagers and small towns’ inhabitants from the evil that already has taken control there. Pay attention to the giant clock that reveals the time you have to the invasion of the enemy. Counterattacks usually happen often, and you have to build fortifications in time. While you are doing this, the smartest thing would be to build a strategy against the enemy.

The combination of well-developed scenarios, complex heroes, and strategic battles is a major factor in Wildermyth. The main story is revealed each time you go to the battle or come back after it. You can’t mess up the story no matter what you do. However, you can significantly improve it by your actions. Your character might find the box with a riddle lock, get adopted by the fire chicken, or get lost in the cave to hear the major story. It will have an impact on you in the future.

Is Wildermyth Worth Buying?

Apparently, the game is one of the best RPGs of this year. No matter how hard it is for beginners, you will always want to come back to end the story or see how different characters can change it. You see the special narrative inside the game with characters that look similar to us and can create stories inside. The game is not demanding, and you don’t need to stay there night and day. Yet, it is hard to resist and not to check out your selfish poetic hunter.
