10 Best Upcoming Video Games of 2022

2022 will be a big year for gaming, as developers start making even more use of the next-gen console power. Many titles have been postponed to 2022 because of lockdowns and other issues, and others appear out of nowhere. But what we know now allows us to form a list of the ten most-awaited video games of 2022. We hope none of them will be delayed or canceled, but still, we don’t sort them by date, just in case.

Elden Ring

A fantasy game was written by George R. R. Martin – what can be greater? If you expect for something like A Song of Ice and Fire rather than Lord of the Rings, that’s correct. Elden Ring is an action RPG by the creators of the Souls series, so prepare for a hard journey through magic lands.

Ghostwire: Tokyo

The action game is set in Tokyo taken over by supernatural creatures. Your character will have to find out what happens and ally with a ghost. Your alliance will be armed with fantastic abilities in the middle of an incredible catastrophe. You have never seen Tokyo like this.

Starfield

Welcome to the outer space exploration adventure in the XXV century! Futuristic weapons and starships, robots and new worlds, and that eternal vision of space as the final frontier. It’s the first truly new franchise started by Bethesda in the recent decade, and so it deserves all the attention.

Horizon Forbidden West

The sequel of Horizon Zero Dawn is a larger, harder, sharper, and more mysterious futuristic western. As you follow Aloy to the West on her quest to find the forbidden lands, be prepared: there are even more to these enormous lands than it seems.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong

The famous vampire-themed RPG is returning, and this time it’s even more stylish. The main principle, though, is the same: no matter if you are a human or something else, all your actions have consequences. And even a centennial, though young-looking, a vampire is not wise enough to predict them all.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl

The sequel of the famous game combining the real setting of Chernobyl and motives of classical Soviet sci-fi novels has been expected for maybe too long. The Zone is waiting for the brave and the desperate again, with artifacts and dangers. The previous installment was released in 2009, so this one is just about time.

Gran Turismo 7

The new installment in the famous racing series by Sony will be available on PlayStation 4 as well. But it’s the next-gen console where it will shine with ray tracing and all the new features that better hardware enables. In short, it’s a faster and brighter version of the Gran Turismo we know.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

The new installment in the most famous RPG series by Nintendo has been in development for a long. And it’s a reason to buy a Switch if not yet. Colorful and spectacular, it will further develop the unique style of Zelda saga. You have never seen the skies of Hyrule closer than this!

God of War: Ragnarök

The highly acclaimed God of War (2018) had to receive a sequel. The Ragnarök entry will be based on Scandinavian mythology, just like its predecessor, and released on PlayStation 4/5 exclusively. Expect more bloody action, more fantasy locations, world-shaking adventures, and decisive battles of generations.

We didn’t count DLC, remasters, and publications on other platforms. Though it’s obvious that those on PC will be delighted to play the 2018’s God of War, and Destiny 2 fans are already counting hours till The Witch Queen is out, we only consider brand new titles. Which of them do you expect the most? Maybe we skipped something important? Drop more names in the comments, tell us what you like!
